Renshi -    This title is awarded, not automatically given, to 5th Dan and above and signifies "One whom others follow."  It also refers to the person, that his/her "outside" is correct and his/her outer form is without error.  "A person who has mastered himself."  They are considered an expert instructor.  This status is a prerequisite before attaining the title of Kyoshi.  A Renshi is no longer one of the many.

    Many people can train all their lives and not receive these titles.  They are awarded for special accomplishments within the field of martial arts.
